Brian Vickers will compete full-time in the Nationwide Series for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2013. Vickers doesn’t have a full-time cup ride in 2013 so he is going to compete in a lower series until he finds a full-time cup ride which ever driver wants. Vickers is planning on competing in nine Sprint Cup races for Michael Waltrip Racing driving the No.55 car in 2013 however. Vickers Nationwide ride in 2013 will be sponsored by Dollar General and the car number is still unknown.

Kyle Busch Motorsports released the news Tuesday evening that Joey Coulter will be competing full-time in a KBM truck for the 2013 season. Few details were released on sponsorship and the truck number for Coulter but they should be announced in the next month or so. Coulter is currently driving the No.22 truck for Richard Childress Racing this season and RCR didn’t have interest in re-signing Coulter. Coulter currently sits fifth in the standings and has one win this season. KBM likely picked up the biggest free agent in the truck series for the 2013 season. Coulter said “To say that I am excited about the opportunity to drive for KBM would be an understatement” regarding the announcement. Coulter hopes to go after the championship in 2013.

Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports both made great additions to their teams Tuesday and both drivers will be fierce competitors for the championship. Vickers will look to bring his Cup experience to the Nationwide Series and show how great of a driver he still is. Coulter hopes he has found a home for years to come with KBM and he wants to prove he’s one of the Truck Series best. More and more plans are being revealed for the 2013 season and additional drivers will be sharing their plans for 2013 once the 2012 season wraps up.
