Taking the darkness of the start of the year following his horrific crash in the NASCAR XFINITY Series’ opening race and transforming into the light of success is nothing short of a miraculous feat.
While the format can be questioned, nothing about what Busch pulled off in 2015 came easy, making the glory of a championship that much more sweet. After his horrific crash during the NASCAR XFINITY Series opener at Daytona International Speedway, nearly everyone counted him out of contention for the championship in 2015.
Now nine months following the most devastating day of the Joe Gibbs Racing driver’s career, he is in position to compete for the title in the season finale. This moment was unimaginable on that dreary day in Daytona Beach, Florida. However, as a result of the hard work Busch put into his recovery, he earned this opportunity. This led to a thrilling race that tested the tenacity of the remaining eight contenders. The excitement was produced without any controversial moments, unlike the previous three races.
